The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is home to the National Toxicology Program, a Health and Human Services interagency program dedicated to testing and evaluating substances in our environment. Data generated by the National Toxicology Program are available through the Chemical Effects in Biological Systems (CEBS) database.

CEBS houses data of interest to environmental health scientists. CEBS is a curated public resource, and receives depositions of data from academic, industrial, and governmental laboratories. Toxicological data arising from the NTP’s testing program are searchable through the CEBS interface and available for download from the CEBS FTP site. The CEBS database is refreshed quarterly to add studies newly released into the public domain.

Data available for download from the FTP site include toxicological testing endpoints such as histopathology data, gross and in-life observations, immunotoxicology, microarray data, genetic toxicology, developmental data, and more.
